Thank god we took these photos before the negative temperatures and snow moved in. Chris and Kayla had some specific spots in the city they wanted photos… Chicago Theater, Kinzie St. bridge, and even the corner pub where they got engaged. I can’t wait for the wedding! They are getting married at Stan Mansion…. one of the first venues I ever shot a wedding in and haven’t been back since.
Becca wasn't even sure she wanted engagement photos, but since I offer them as complimentary... why not? I met up with Becca and Andrew the other night at their place. They wanted me to capture them just doing their thing at home and around the neighborhood. It was THE BEST. We went up to their rooftop to find an amazing space to entertain friends with a fabulous view. We took a little spin around the block where we found Becca's favorite trees and some really great building facades. We even stopped for Gelato! Check it out!
We were dodging rain all through this session but we were able to have a great time and even get access to Tavern when it was closed. Too fun! Meet Autumn and Chris. Autumn has been coloring my hair for probably 10 years now. All those funky colors and designs come from this girl. Def check her out HERE. Can't wait for their wedding this fall!
Last week I traveled to Seattle Washington to participate in the Free Me workshop by Candice Zugich, also known as The Blissful Maven. She's amazing. Her photos make you feel something. They are intimate and the connection between her subjects is intense. I love it. My goal was to see how she worked and was able to pull this emotion and connection out of people for the camera. So in love with these photos... Totally inspiring. Starting to scout locations so that I can take more photos like this. If you are interested in being one of my model couples, shoot me a message. Styling by Candice Zugich.
I've known Rachel for a while now through riding horses so I was thrilled when she asked me to photographer her engagement and wedding! I really didn't think this session would happen. The radar looked pretty bad with storms rolling in. Even on the way there, just 5 min outside downtown Lake Geneva it was raining so hard I could barely see out the window. When I arrived at the lake front where we were meeting, a pocket of sunshine opened up! We had a good hour of shooting time and then went to grab some dinner. Our pocket of sunshine closed up and the storm continued. <3 <3 So perfect.
Such a cute couple! I've photographed the whole family on Alberto's side including his brother's wedding. The last time I saw them I thought to myself... I hope they call me when they get engaged. So thrilled they did! Can't wait for the wedding next year! xoxo
Ok my friends. I've decided to start up a referral program again. My business has always succeeded because of my wonderful clients spreading the word, and I'd love to reward those for continuing to do so. Starting today, if you send an engaged couple my way and they book their wedding with me, and they name you, you will receive $100 off a family/equine photo session. What?!?! Thank you, thank you, to everyone for their continued support!!
Such a cool session!! I first met Caitlin and Patrick a couple of years ago at Patrick's sister's wedding. So fun to work with this family again! Patrick is a pilot so where else would you take engagement photos than at the airport with his plane?!? So fun!
Such a beautiful day today! It inspired me to share with you how one wedding from last summer took the flowers into their own hands and you would never know because they looked amazing! Have you ever thought to ask your local farmers market florist to supply the flowers for your wedding? That's exactly what this couple did. Once they picked up the flowers, the groom's mother got to work crafting bouquets with a little bit of burlap and lace ribbon. For the ceremony, the aisle was lined with hanging mason jars filled with flowers. So simple and gorgeous! And I have to say, the flowers lasted all day long. Too often I see flowers wilt after just a couple of hours. So enjoy this little DIY wedding day flowers.
So excited for Amy and JD's wedding next September! They are having it at Pier Wisconsin, which is a venue I absolutely love up in Milwaukee. We had a bit of a chilly day for our photos at the lake shore, but with cold weather comes an empty beach. Perfect for our session. Love love love the muted colors of the city and Lake Michigan and that awesome striped blanket they brought to cuddle up in. Can't wait for the big day my new friends!
Another hot day! I met up with Erin and John yesterday in the Lincoln Park area for their engagement session. They had gotten engaged there so it was only fitting. We battled the remainder of the Pride crowd and found some space of our own. They did amazing. Beautiful colors and a beautiful couple. I can't wait for the wedding!
We pretty much had a perfect evening for Any and Fritz's engagement photos. We started at North Pond and made our way to North Ave Beach. We also tried to go to the Art Institute but their gardens were unfortunately closed. I love North Pond though. So pretty! I can't wait for the wedding!
I'm back from Japan and back to work! Last weekend was beautiful. Perfect for Lillian and Kevin's engagement session. They also worked in their 8 month old puppy... who is huge! And super well behaved.
So gorgeous out last night. Mikie and Dan were so amazing. Definitely naturals in front of the camera. This great location in Chicago totally reminds me of when I was in New York. So excited for the wedding next year!
So happy the rain stopped yesterday for these photos. Dana and Jake are tying the knot in just 2 weeks! A great couple that knows how to laugh and have fun. Can't wait for the wedding!!
Megan and Alec met up with me in Milwaukee for their session last Friday. It was our first real fall day complete with wind and cool temps! But they were troopers and got some really nice shots. Love these spots!
What a fun afternoon! Ryan and Meredith are obvious Cubs fans(Go Cubs!) so what better place to take engagement photos than at Wrigley! We started off by meeting Ronnie Woo-Woo. We then headed in and pretty much had the park to ourselves. R&M were such a fun couple. We had all kinds of laughs mixed in with some smooching in the dugout. We even got to break the rules and walk out to the ivy walls of the outfield. They no longer let people do this but our tour guide was awesome and let us sneak a few. And for anyone interested, there is a fee to take photos inside Wrigley, but it goes straight to the Chicago Cub Charities which is awesome. Please contact me if you would like more information on taking photos inside Wrigley.
