Kerry and Mirel | Punta Mita, Mexico | Part 1

Where do I even begin with this wedding? My final wedding of 2017, and it was more amazing than I can even describe. I've known Kerry's family for quite some time now, but when I got the email to photograph Kerry's wedding in Punta Mita, Mexico, I was floored. To have the opportunity to photograph a wedding in such an amazing location.... pretty sure I did a happy dance. I have so many photos I want to share with you all that I am splitting this into parts. I was there from a Thursday until Sunday, and photographed all of the events that happened over the weekend from the welcome cocktails, to the rehearsal fiesta, to the wedding and finally the farewell brunch. Here are some of my favorites so far for the first half of the wedding day.
Wedding Venue: Four Seasons, Puta Mita. Rentals: Rocco and Grupo Trendy. Florist: Francisco Salazar from VODAX. Huppa: Mobva. Hair and Makeup: Franc Gole and Jesus Avelar. Video and Second Shooter: Maxiko Media and Eder Acevedo. Wedding Planners: Chic Concepts Wedding Gown: Vera Wang.

I think the MOH was more nervous than the bride... Great shot Eder!

Autumn and Chris | Wheeling Wedding

My last local wedding of 2017! I've known this girl for years! She is the one responsible for my amazing various hair colors. =) So thankful that for one day, it did not rain. We just had to brave the cold. But we had hand warmers, and make good use of our time to keep everyone from becoming icicles. Autumn's entire wedding took place at the Westin in Wheeling. A mere 5min from my home. They have an amazing little pond for photos that leads into a forest preserve. Perfect! Here is a brief sampling from their gorgeous wedding day.

Becca + Andrew | Chicago Engagement

Becca wasn't even sure she wanted engagement photos, but since I offer them as complimentary... why not? I met up with Becca and Andrew the other night at their place. They wanted me to capture them just doing their thing at home and around the neighborhood. It was THE BEST. We went up to their rooftop to find an amazing space to entertain friends with a fabulous view. We took a little spin around the block where we found Becca's favorite trees and some really great building facades. We even stopped for Gelato! Check it out!

Free Me workshop | Seattle WA

Last week I traveled to Seattle Washington to participate in the Free Me workshop by Candice Zugich, also known as The Blissful Maven. She's amazing. Her photos make you feel something. They are intimate and the connection between her subjects is intense. I love it. My goal was to see how she worked and was able to pull this emotion and connection out of people for the camera. So in love with these photos... Totally inspiring. Starting to scout locations so that I can take more photos like this. If you are interested in being one of my model couples, shoot me a message. Styling by Candice Zugich.

Amanda and Andrew | Chicago Wedding

Amanda and Andrew's wedding was like a family wedding for me. I had 3 previous brides in attendance, which was so fun! For wedding party photos, we wondered around the Lincoln Park area. What a busy location for wedding parties! Wowsa! We finished up with some photos outside of the Knickerbocker Hotel where the reception was and I have to tell you, with the light we were getting, it was my favorite spot. The city lights were glowing and the sun was setting. So we stopped traffic and got some great shots.

Amanda was having all the fun twirling her dress that Andrew wanted to show off his moves as well.

Liz ad Arash | Chicago Wedding

So I contact Liz and Arash a couple weeks before the wedding to go over the timeline and make sure we are on the same page. Liz tells me of a plan she has to set off pink smoke bombs.. in downtown Chicago... ?!?!?! I'm game for anything of course. I just told her to have the least important person there light them in case they get arrested. LOL! Well... our plan went off without a hitch! Check it out!!

Jamie and Zack | Libertyville Wedding

Another amazing day! Jamie and Zack planned their whole wedding to take place at Independence Grove - ceremony, photos, and reception. Always a risky choice with weather being a factor. But there was no rain in site!

Sami and Kevin | Geneva Wedding

Stunning bride! Seriously, Sami, you looked amazing. Super hot out this day but I'll take hot over rain any day. One of my very first weddings was at Riverside Receptions in Geneva, so it was so much fun getting back there last weekend. Check out this quick preview!

Carly and Jon | Arlington Heights Wedding

Congrats to Carly and Jon! Saturday was picture perfect in every way. A quick teaser for you of this gorgeous wedding... Ceremony, reception and wedding party photos all took place at and around the Metropolis in Arlington Heights. Love this downtown area!

Ashley and Mitch | Joliet Wedding

Ashley and Mitch were married on Saturday over the holiday weekend. There were storms in the forecast, and with the wedding being in Joliet, I thought for sure we'd get hit. Seems like Joliet gets hit pretty hard with storms usually. But we didn't! Not a drop of rain! So thankful because the photos and reception were held at the Patrick C. Haley Mansion. LOVE that place. So beautiful and so perfect for Ashley's wedding. Have a look!

Shannon and Rick | Park Ridge Wedding

See a familiar face?? I met up with Shannon and her sister Meg of Whole Food Love last week and over the weekend photographed Shannon's wedding. LOVE! Such a gorgeous day! Perfect weather. Perfect wedding. This is just a small taste.. Stay tuned for more as I edit this whole wedding!

Caitlin and Patrick | Milwaukee Engagement

Such a cool session!! I first met Caitlin and Patrick a couple of years ago at Patrick's sister's wedding. So fun to work with this family again! Patrick is a pilot so where else would you take engagement photos than at the airport with his plane?!? So fun!

Their dog's name is Rudder! LOVE.

Sara and Chris | Northbrook Wedding

My second to last wedding of 2015 was with Sara and Chris, and what a great day it was! Sara found me through the horse world grapevine so I actually ended up knowing a bunch of people at the wedding. Super fun! The entire event took place at the Hilton in Northbrook - getting ready, ceremony, photos and reception. Sooooo beautiful!! The ceremony setup was gorgeous. I usually dont post much when it comes to the ceremony, but I did for this one. So easy for everyone with the entire event in one location. I believe the look of Sara's wedding was created by Atmosphere Events Group which included the flowers. Enjoy a look into this beautiful day with super fun people!

I look away for one second and this is what goes on... hahaha

Amy and JD | Milwaukee Wedding

OMG! It has been far too long since I have blogged. Tis the busy season for sure. Things are winding down and I can start getting caught up online. Remember my teaser photos of Amy and JD on facebook? How can you not?! Amy is the pretty thing ever. Such an amazing smile. A beautiful Milwaukee wedding in September. A little windy being so close to the lake, but you can't tell from these smiles. We started out at the Pfister Hotel. So gorgeous there. Then we went to the art museum and Pier WI to finish up photos. The reception was also at Pier WI. Love that venue. So pretty there, and it has an amazing view of the city at night.

Kaylan and Rob | Chicago Wedding

Kaylan and I have been in the equestrian world together for as long as I've been riding, so when she contacted me to photograph her wedding, I was thrilled! We began with getting ready shots at the Palmer House Hotel. They had a large suite that was perfect for the ladies prep. The ceremony was at Assumption Church. Gotta love those old ornate churches downtown. During the ceremony, a nasty storm rolled in. The stained glass windows darken and the lightning began. We were all a little worried for our photos afterwards. But it passed quickly and the sun came out. The storm actually left some really amazing clouds in the sky for our shots at Buckingham Fountain. We made a few stops around the city, and made our way to the Harold Washington Library for the reception. Such a cool venue. It's like being outside... but you're not! Ashley and I had a great time documenting your big day Kaylan and Rob! Thank you for having us! Event Planning by Wrap it Up.

Autumn and Steve | Kenosha Wedding

Let me just say I'm obsessed with Autumn. So gorgeous! A vintage look that was absolutly perfect for her. We had a beautiful day in downtown Kenosha where everything was within walking distance. The ladies started off with hair and makeup at Moda Bella Salon. This place was perfect for a wedding. An old house that was decorated to suit the occasion. Autumn's makeup was done by her sister-in-law who is a makeup artist from California. The ceremony was at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church. Following the ceremony, we took some photos out in front of Circa on Seventh, which is where the reception was. We continued on to the lake front where Steve and Autumn's fur baby met up with us for some photos. Love working pets into the photos! At this point, I had to stop with picking photos for this post. There are just too many and I have to stop myself from posting the whole wedding. =) Enjoy!

Kelly + Jay | Kenosha Wedding

June usually proves to be a rainy month, and the day of Kelly and Jay's wedding was no different. However! It held off just long enough for us to finish their outdoor ceremony and all of our outdoor photos. Woo! We started off at the Radisson where both the ladies and gentlemen were getting ready. From there, everything else took place at The Club at Strawberry Creek in Kenosha. A beautiful location for both an outdoor ceremony, wedding party photos and the reception. But can I just say, Kelly was the cherry on top for the day. Such a beautiful girl with an amazing smile. Girl made my job easy! It was a pleasure photographing your wedding Kelly and Jay. I wish you a lifetime of happiness together. xoxo
