What an ending to 2018! Shannon and Alex threw the party of all parties on New Years Eve celebrating their marriage to each other. The weather was dreary and wet, but it was all warm and toasty on the inside. The entire event took place at the Marriott in Burr Ridge with a gorgeous black and gold color pallet. There were so many photos I wanted to share… this will have to be part one with more to come. Enjoy!
Just one image for now... The wind was blowing Maya's hair everywhere.... and I love it.
What an amazing way to kick off 2015. This was seriously such a hard wedding to blog because there were so many great moments captured that in order to tell the whole story... well... it was impossible. I would have posted the entire wedding! This post still has a bazillion photos in it. I just couldn't help myself. Rio and I enjoyed working with Maggie and Kevin so much. And it was so great to see the Lenz family once again. We started off getting ready at the Hancock building on the 91st floor. Check out the view out their window! Gorgeous Lake Michigan. We had a quick first look before heading off to the ceremony. After the "I Do's" we had a plan of 4 stops around the city for photos. I thought, no way would we make it to all of them. With city traffic, it would be impossible. But we did it with time to spare!! The cold may have helped us speed things up a little. I'm so happy we got them all in. Every spot was amazing. Our last set of photos took place at the reception site, The Rookery. The most amazing staircase I've ever seen. The most beautiful photos of Maggie and Kevin on those stairs. Thank you so much Maggie and Kevin for sharing your special day with us. Have a great honeymoon!! xoxo!!
I'm a bit behind in blogging all of my weddings from this fall. It's the busiest time of year for me! But I did want to quick get this one out there. I just returned from Kauai, Hawaii where Nora and Paul said "I Do." A small intimate beach wedding on the north shore with just their children as their wedding party, and a few friends and parents. I couldn't have asked for a more gorgeous backdrop. Congratulations my friend! I wish you all a lifetime of happiness.
Where do I begin?? Mikie, you made such a beautiful bride. Every move you made created a beautiful image. Dan wasn't too shabby himself. =) It was such a pleasure photographing your wedding day. It was full of amazing people (some familiar!) and lots of love. We started our day at the Waldorf Astoria for the ladies and the Thompson Chicago for the gentlemen. Gorgeous backdrops for our getting ready portion of the day. As you can see, I have posted quite a few shots while Mikie was getting ready. The ceremony was at Holy Name Cathedral, and the reception at Saddle and Cycle Club. One of my favorite Chicago venues. The rain held out once again for me and we had a beautiful evening. AND! I had to post some dancing shots as Mikie's family threw one of the most amazing "Dollar Dances" I've ever witnessed. There were shots, and cupcakes, and napkins flying everywhere! It was amazing! Thank you so much again for having me. Wishing you a lifetime of love and happiness.
Perfect! Everything was just perfect for Amy and Fritz on Saturday. No rain in sight and the temperature was just right. We started with Amy and the ladies getting ready up on the 91st floor of the Hancock building. The view was ah-ma-zing! A couple of blocks away was the church where they had a wonderful ceremony. Love the churches in Chicago. So ornate and beautiful. For photos, we went to Olive Park near Navy Pier. Love this spot, and love the little glimpse of Navy Pier you can get with this location. From there we made a quick stop at the Art Institute before headed in to the reception at the University Club. You looked amazing Amy and Fritz! So happy for you! Congrats and enjoy your quick preview! <3 <3
What a stunning bride. Loved everything about this wedding. So clean and fresh with light pink, white and blue. And so classic! This was a 4th of July wedding and the backdrop couldn't be any more perfect being on the pier at The Riviera with the beautiful boats and flags flying. Love love love.
We pretty much had a perfect evening for Any and Fritz's engagement photos. We started at North Pond and made our way to North Ave Beach. We also tried to go to the Art Institute but their gardens were unfortunately closed. I love North Pond though. So pretty! I can't wait for the wedding!
Time certainly flies. Seems like I just photographed Lisa and patrick's wedding! Such a pleasure to work with this family. So happy!!
Check this little guy out! Nolan is 6 months and all set for Easter. Cutest bunny I've ever seen!
What a cutie! Such a happy little guy. Zachary rocked his one year session last weekend. Have a look!
Sweet little Penny is 9 months old! We visited the Chicago Botanic Garden greenhouse for a little spring session since it continues to snow every other day this year. Enjoy!
These two were amazing. Venti posed for every photo and of course Gabrielle looked gorgeous as well. There's nothing better than being mauled by your horse for treats. So adorable.
What a fun afternoon! Ryan and Meredith are obvious Cubs fans(Go Cubs!) so what better place to take engagement photos than at Wrigley! We started off by meeting Ronnie Woo-Woo. We then headed in and pretty much had the park to ourselves. R&M were such a fun couple. We had all kinds of laughs mixed in with some smooching in the dugout. We even got to break the rules and walk out to the ivy walls of the outfield. They no longer let people do this but our tour guide was awesome and let us sneak a few. And for anyone interested, there is a fee to take photos inside Wrigley, but it goes straight to the Chicago Cub Charities which is awesome. Please contact me if you would like more information on taking photos inside Wrigley.
Happy 1st birthday to Ethan! These two did an amazing job. We first met them last summer as part of a large family portrait. Ethan was teeny tiny, and is now celebrating his first birthday and Maia is 4. So fun!
Some of you may recognize this horse from pervious sessions. Ziggy is becoming a real pro. Sadly Caitlin is moving away to Texas with her family, so her time with Ziggy is ending. To remember him, his owner and trainer gave them a photo session as a going away gift. Such an awesome gift!
Beautiful wedding. Amanda and John are both very creative and it showed in all the little details of their wedding. Together they folded 1,000 paper cranes in 12 shades of blue. They used a photo of those cranes as texture for the copy of their stationary and signs to direct their guests. Those cranes also hung as a backdrop at the altar for their ceremony which was held at this amazing little park in Wheaton. You will see many other super fun details that display the personalities of these two throughout this post. So much fun. Thank you so much to Amanda and John for sharing this special day with me.
We are multiplying! The last time I saw the Marty Family, it was just Abby. Now we have Emily! Super cute happy girls. We spent the morning at Independence Grove where they love to spend time getting fresh air jogging or playing at the playground. So much fun!
