Today is gross and rainy, but I’m taking you all back to Ben and Christine’s amazing country wedding. Both being in the horse industry, it was only natural for Christine to arrive in a horse drawn carriage. Oak Hill was the perfect venue. The details were amazing.
Happy Wedding Wednesday! Today is a beautiful spring day to share Halie and David’s gorgeous Naperville wedding. It may look all warm and sunny, but this bride was the real MVP. Pretty sure it was somewhere around 30 degrees for this October wedding. We managed to crank out these photos in record time even though you’d never know it. The light was amazing, and the bride was not going to let the chill keep her from getting these amazing photos.
Another amazing wedding last year! MJ and Evan had to most perfect day. I shot this girl’s senior photos way back when… and now her wedding?!?! Time sure flies. So awesome to be able to spend this special day with her. Gorgeous bride!!
Ok… hands down the best first look I’ve seen. That’s all I managed to get through with this post only because the getting ready shots up through the first look were so amazing… If I kept going, I’d be posting over 100 photos. So perhaps another day I will share more from this wedding. Until then, just try not to get teary seeing this first look.
Trying to get caught up on blogging last years weddings and I of course had to get this one out there. Serena and Roberto had a small intimate wedding at The Dawson in Chicago. Everything was so beautiful. Serena looked amazing in her BHLDN gown as we took photos around The Rookery, the Board of Trade building, and just outside The Dawson. Take a look!
Brrrr….. It’s a winter wonderland outside… well, maybe a little cold for the “wonderland” part. Jen and Cole were hoping for a winter wonderland with their wedding last month. They got a light dusting of snow the night before and temperatures that were quite comfortable compared to what we have right now. I think we got pretty lucky. This was my first time at Adler Cultural Center in Libertyville and it was amazing! Especially if there is bad weather. The sunroom is so pretty for photos.
Where do I even begin with this wedding? My final wedding of 2017, and it was more amazing than I can even describe. I've known Kerry's family for quite some time now, but when I got the email to photograph Kerry's wedding in Punta Mita, Mexico, I was floored. To have the opportunity to photograph a wedding in such an amazing location.... pretty sure I did a happy dance. I have so many photos I want to share with you all that I am splitting this into parts. I was there from a Thursday until Sunday, and photographed all of the events that happened over the weekend from the welcome cocktails, to the rehearsal fiesta, to the wedding and finally the farewell brunch. Here are some of my favorites so far for the first half of the wedding day.
Wedding Venue: Four Seasons, Puta Mita. Rentals: Rocco and Grupo Trendy. Florist: Francisco Salazar from VODAX. Huppa: Mobva. Hair and Makeup: Franc Gole and Jesus Avelar. Video and Second Shooter: Maxiko Media and Eder Acevedo. Wedding Planners: Chic Concepts Wedding Gown: Vera Wang.

I seriously love this couple. They created the most amazing images... why? Because they weren't even worrying about me. They were completely in the moment, having the best day of their lives. That's the key to amazing photos my friends. Have a couple of drinks if you're tense. Loosen up! Have fun! It's your wedding! =) The rain was set to arrive by 2pm that day and we cranked out those photos just in time. Location: Geneva National Dress: Houghton "Cheyne" Flowers: Gia Bella Flowers
So I'm blogging this wedding in parts... because there are so many photo I want to share. Rachel is a good friend and has been through the wringer the past year with the passing of her mother Karen. Rachel did an amazing job of keeping her mother with us throughout the entire day. We laughed. We cried. But mostly we celebrated the way Karen would have. We start with some getting ready shots, the first look and wedding party photos..
Location: Horticultural Hall, Lake Geneva WI
Tara and Luke kicked of the month of June wedding with this amazing celebration! Perfect weather, and one of the most beautifully put together weddings I've seen. I have to say, in addition to all of the amazing wedding party shots, I'm posting a bunch of the reception details. Peonies and eucalyptus leaves everywhere! This girl knows the way to my heart. AND!! Tara has spent her engagement collecting second-hand china for every place setting at the wedding. Amazing! Some of the vendors making this gorgeous event possible are Terrace 167 , flowers by Wood Violet, and makeup by Megan Holstine.
I love Madison. It has the big city buildings but a small town feel. I've been to the Madison Club a few times now and it's such a wonderful venue for a wedding. It was pretty chilly this fall day, and windy! The ladies were such troopers to go out and get some shots with the capital building in the background. So gorgeous!
Such a fun day! The storms were approaching, giving us cloudy skies, but held off until we were safely inside the reception. Bridgette and Robby's entire wedding took place at Eagle Ridge Resort in Galena. It was my first time there and I LOVE it. I got there about an hour and a half early, as I am a freak about not being late. I walked around a bit to scout photo locations and then sat on a swing overlooking the water. So peaceful! Highly recommended to anyone for their wedding or just to escape daily life. I also got to work with my favorite videographer, Jon Romashko of Plan A Productions. He has a drone!! Can't wait to see his video of the wedding party at the top of the golf course valley and the fly-over the drone did. Wonder if it caught any lightening that was on the way... Anyway! Enjoy some sneak peaks from this amazing wedding!!
Another amazing day! Jamie and Zack planned their whole wedding to take place at Independence Grove - ceremony, photos, and reception. Always a risky choice with weather being a factor. But there was no rain in site!
Such a cool session!! I first met Caitlin and Patrick a couple of years ago at Patrick's sister's wedding. So fun to work with this family again! Patrick is a pilot so where else would you take engagement photos than at the airport with his plane?!? So fun!
Last month, we took a peek at Katie and Fede's Chicago wedding. It was smaller, intimate and classy. This month, they continue their celebration in Texas where Fede's family lives. It was a bit larger of a party but still very intimate and so beautiful! The party took place at the Cavasos' Ranch... and don't let the word ranch fool you. This is a family full of architects, and the home that Mr. Cavasos built on their 1100 acres was amazing. The perfect venue for the party. They worked so hard to have everything ready and perfect for the big day - even with the buckets of rain they were getting. I believe I heard Katie say she felt like she was in a movie as she greeted her friends. We were able to sneak off for some photos of the two just before guests arrived at sunset. It was so perfect.
A teaser of Katie and Federico from Saturday! Beautiful evening Chicago wedding. More later this week!
My final wedding from 2014, was with Sara and Christian in Madison WI. We had a beautiful day considering it was the 7th of December. The sun was out and the girls were willing to brave the cold. We first went to this great little park near the water where kids were ice skating on frighteningly thin looking ice. There was no way I was asking my bride to go stand out there. So we stuck to the bridge and the lake front. After a gorgeous Greek Orthodox ceremony, the whole wedding party headed over to the Capital Building for a few shots outside. Such a great area. The whole day was very relaxed - a great way to end 2014.
I'm sharing with you another wedding today from this fall. It was a little chilly out this day in October, but gorgeous none the less. And Katie! What a beautiful bride! Her dad's expression the first time he saw her as a bride says it all. He wins the award for best reaction of all time. We start with some finishing touches at Katie's parent's home. From there, we had the ceremony where they first saw each other. All of our photos were taken after the ceremony and this great little park that I had no clue existed - Rosemont Park. The reception followed at the Rosewood. A lovely venue with fantastic service and a nice hot meal for us photographers. Always bonus points in my book for that! Please enjoy and maybe even find inspiration for your own wedding some day.
It's been an unusually cold November... until Vanessa and Matt's wedding!! We had temperatures in the 50s on Saturday! Couldn't have asked for a better day. It was filled with so much laughter and fun. And I knew pretty much half of the people there. So extra fun for me! I had to stop because there were just so many I wanted to post. I'll have to make a "part two" post with the ceremony and reception shots. =) Enjoy your preview V&M and have a GREAT honeymoon!
