Brrrr….. It’s a winter wonderland outside… well, maybe a little cold for the “wonderland” part. Jen and Cole were hoping for a winter wonderland with their wedding last month. They got a light dusting of snow the night before and temperatures that were quite comfortable compared to what we have right now. I think we got pretty lucky. This was my first time at Adler Cultural Center in Libertyville and it was amazing! Especially if there is bad weather. The sunroom is so pretty for photos.
Such an amazing wedding on Saturday! As I go through the photos, no joke, Becca and Andrew are laughing together in 99% of them. The love and happiness between them is so amazing to witness. As if that wasn't enough, their wedding was so gorgeous! From the suite at the Conrad Hotel to the roof top ceremony on the yacht at Navy Pier with the sun setting behind the skyline. 😍😍😍 Couldn't have been any more perfect. Congratulations!!!
Hello everyone! I'm so sorry for not blogging in FOREVER. Tis the busy season and time escapes me so quickly. I will get caught up at some point with blogging but my brides come first and getting their photos to them is my priority. However! I wanted to check in and also share a few photos from this past weekend. I had 2 weddings and both were so amazing. First up was Ben and Christine. Amazing farm wedding at Oak Hill in Apple Valley complete with baby horses and twinkle lights. I'll share more as I edit them but here are a couple...
Next we had MJ and Evan. Couldn't have asked for more perfect weather. No rain and not too hot. I photographed this beautiful girl as a high school senior and was so thrilled to be able to capture her wedding. XOXO MJ!
Happy New Year Everyone!! I hope everyone has had an amazing Christmas and New Years, and continues to have the best 2018. I've already got around 17 weddings booked for 2018 and can't wait to hear from those of you who've gotten engaged over the holidays! First post of 2018 is part 2 of Kerry and Mirel's wedding in Punta Mita, Mexico. After the most amazing sunset ceremony, we were able to get a few wedding party photos in before our sunlight was gone. I have to say, the floral arrangements not only for the ceremony, but the reception were just jaw-dropping. The head table was probably 30' long and there were flowers from one end to the other covering all of the food, plates, glasses, etc on the table which is usually unsightly for your speech photos. As a surprise, Kerry's brother flew in Danielle Caesar to preform their first dance live! Whaaaaat?!?! They also had parent dances that were the most fun I've had. Everyone packed the dance floor until last call (including Chance the Rapper!) My description really does no justice to this wedding. Check it out.

My last local wedding of 2017! I've known this girl for years! She is the one responsible for my amazing various hair colors. =) So thankful that for one day, it did not rain. We just had to brave the cold. But we had hand warmers, and make good use of our time to keep everyone from becoming icicles. Autumn's entire wedding took place at the Westin in Wheeling. A mere 5min from my home. They have an amazing little pond for photos that leads into a forest preserve. Perfect! Here is a brief sampling from their gorgeous wedding day.
I seriously love this couple. They created the most amazing images... why? Because they weren't even worrying about me. They were completely in the moment, having the best day of their lives. That's the key to amazing photos my friends. Have a couple of drinks if you're tense. Loosen up! Have fun! It's your wedding! =) The rain was set to arrive by 2pm that day and we cranked out those photos just in time. Location: Geneva National Dress: Houghton "Cheyne" Flowers: Gia Bella Flowers
So I'm blogging this wedding in parts... because there are so many photo I want to share. Rachel is a good friend and has been through the wringer the past year with the passing of her mother Karen. Rachel did an amazing job of keeping her mother with us throughout the entire day. We laughed. We cried. But mostly we celebrated the way Karen would have. We start with some getting ready shots, the first look and wedding party photos..
Location: Horticultural Hall, Lake Geneva WI
Just one image for now... The wind was blowing Maya's hair everywhere.... and I love it.
Tara and Luke kicked of the month of June wedding with this amazing celebration! Perfect weather, and one of the most beautifully put together weddings I've seen. I have to say, in addition to all of the amazing wedding party shots, I'm posting a bunch of the reception details. Peonies and eucalyptus leaves everywhere! This girl knows the way to my heart. AND!! Tara has spent her engagement collecting second-hand china for every place setting at the wedding. Amazing! Some of the vendors making this gorgeous event possible are Terrace 167 , flowers by Wood Violet, and makeup by Megan Holstine.
Happy Monday y'all! Yes I said y'all. I'm missing KY these days. =) I had to share a photo of my bride from Friday's wedding. So gorgeous! More to come!
I love Madison. It has the big city buildings but a small town feel. I've been to the Madison Club a few times now and it's such a wonderful venue for a wedding. It was pretty chilly this fall day, and windy! The ladies were such troopers to go out and get some shots with the capital building in the background. So gorgeous!
Amanda and Andrew's wedding was like a family wedding for me. I had 3 previous brides in attendance, which was so fun! For wedding party photos, we wondered around the Lincoln Park area. What a busy location for wedding parties! Wowsa! We finished up with some photos outside of the Knickerbocker Hotel where the reception was and I have to tell you, with the light we were getting, it was my favorite spot. The city lights were glowing and the sun was setting. So we stopped traffic and got some great shots.
Finally getting caught up on blogging and what better way to kick it off than with Chelsea and Tony. Such a gorgeous wedding in Elkhart Lake, WI. We had their first look on the dock outside Chelsea's parent home and then walked around the downtown area for group shots. The reception was so beautiful! Siebken's Resort was such a great location where cocktails and the dancing portion were held in their tavern and the dinner in their amazing dining area. Check out all of the amazing details!
Wow! Such a cool wedding! A wedding celebration that screamed Emmy and Sean. It took place at YMCA Camp Alexander in WI Rapids. A woodland theme... and everything about this wedding had a person touch from a friend or family member or a story behind it. SO many details and such great styling! I had to stop myself from editing anymore or the whole wedding would be done before I know it! Table settings were designed by Sean's mom and sister. Sean's mom spent her time collecting the crystal glasses and growing all of the succulents. The bouquets and boutonnieres came from the local farmers market. Benches for the ceremony were carved by the family. The save the date was even hand drawn by their 91 year old grandmother. So much love and care went into creating this wedding. LOVE it.
What an amazing wedding! And so colorful! Jessica designed all of the floral arrangements herself, and check out her dress! Ladies... it's your wedding. It can be anything you want it to be and Jessica is the perfect example of this. The ceremony and reception were at Turner Hall in Milwaukee WI. Photos were taken inside Turner Hall and just outside.
Check out Carly and Jon who were featured on Borrowed & Blue!
So excited to be accepted as a featured vendor of Borrowed & Blue!
Such a fun day! The storms were approaching, giving us cloudy skies, but held off until we were safely inside the reception. Bridgette and Robby's entire wedding took place at Eagle Ridge Resort in Galena. It was my first time there and I LOVE it. I got there about an hour and a half early, as I am a freak about not being late. I walked around a bit to scout photo locations and then sat on a swing overlooking the water. So peaceful! Highly recommended to anyone for their wedding or just to escape daily life. I also got to work with my favorite videographer, Jon Romashko of Plan A Productions. He has a drone!! Can't wait to see his video of the wedding party at the top of the golf course valley and the fly-over the drone did. Wonder if it caught any lightening that was on the way... Anyway! Enjoy some sneak peaks from this amazing wedding!!
So I contact Liz and Arash a couple weeks before the wedding to go over the timeline and make sure we are on the same page. Liz tells me of a plan she has to set off pink smoke bombs.. in downtown Chicago... ?!?!?! I'm game for anything of course. I just told her to have the least important person there light them in case they get arrested. LOL! Well... our plan went off without a hitch! Check it out!!
